@time4change1 – What, if any, are the recent references to NextGEN Gallery in your server’s error_log files?

i am so sorry but I am a beginner with this. so when communicating with me you must talk plain English that a 15 year old will understand(smile) I’m not 15 but I need understanding of someone young.

time4change1 – This note in the error message is a good first place to start:

Check your PHP error log or ask your hosting provider for assistance.

Contact your hosting service and ask them to check the recent error_logs for your site.

well after looking through many forums I have discovered that I had to upload an older version of NextGen 1.9.13 and it worked fine. I was able to upload my pictures and as of right now everything is working ok. so this forum is a very good help for people like me who are in the very beginning stages of websites. thanks

@time4change1, you have done everything except the right things, the ones that had been told you to do.
Also, you have to know that it will never possible give you support on such an old version of the plugin.

@time4change1 – Sometimes you have to dive in … but it is always best to use the most current stable releases of any software including plugins on your site.

Unfortunately not all combinations will work “out-of-the-box” and you have to do a bit of tinkering to get things to work.

@time4change1 Please do not create new duplicate topics. Those get deleted when found.

Have you asked your host provider if there’s any errors in your web server’s log file? If you can line up the times that it is failing for you then you may see what the problem is in the log files.
