Hello – I’m having problems with line spacing using the Bjork theme. I’m sure the fault lies with me as I’ve only been trying to use WordPress for a week (the site isn’t finished yet.) On the front page, I’ve managed to get the ‘lorem ipsum’ placeholder blocks to a spacing I like, but not the ‘recent posts’ below, which I work out where to alter them.

In addition, I’ve managed to change the spacing on each post to 1.3, but only by editing each one individually, which is rather laborious. Changing the site or post template seems to make no difference. I know nothing about changing CSS, so if the spacing can’t be altered using the block editor I’ll leave it the way it is – but it seems odd that some blocks can be changed but not others. Thanks for your help!

    Hi @wpmarch,

You can change the global line height of text in Appearance → Editor → Styles tab in the right panel → Typography → Text. Note that WordPress is pretty inconsistent about applying these settings right now, so it might not change the line height everywhere.

You can change the line height of specific elements, like the excerpt in the recent posts block, by clicking that block (like the excerpt) and modifying the typography settings in the panel on the right.

    Hi Anders

Thanks for your response. I did try both of the methods you mention, but neither seemed to work. The settings altered (I changed ‘line spacing’ from 1.5 to 1.3) but there was no effect on the block of text. But I’m sure it’s my fault and not the theme’s, I’ve probably messed something up through not really understanding why (for example) the front page can only be changed on the site settings! WordPress is hard to understand to begin with if you don’t know html – I nearly gave up several times in the first few days.

Hello again Anders – I think I’ve worked it out now! I didn’t spot the ‘specific blocks’ section on the right hand column uner ‘styles’ that you mentioned above. I can see now that was like having one hand tied behind my back! I told you it was my fault! Thanks!
