Having problems in setting up the widgets.

  • My website’s homepage has been set up for illustration. I am having some issues with the website.
    1. Instead of the rupee symbol, it is showing up some weird box. Though I feel that this problem is device/browser centric.
    2. The space between the Connect With us message and the actual links of the social networking sites is way too much. I want to cut it down.
    3. I want to change the text just below the connect with us message. I cannot find any settings for that.(Or maybe I am just a bit ignorant).
    4. I want to remove the message at the bottom of the screen which says Powered by wordpress. Designed by woothemes.
    I would like to tell that I am not into coding at all. So the simple the answer is, the better for me.

    Do you mean theme? Are you using their free theme? If so you cannot update your theme and you will invite site security issues.

    But we don’t have access to commercial themes (paid or not), so really don’t have experience with how they work.

    Then what should I do? Should I go for a paid theme? Is only a paid theme completely customizable?

    No, any theme is customizable. If you want help here, there are LOTS of really great free themes available here:

    When you buy a theme from a theme seller you pay not only for the theme, but for theme updates, technical support for customizations, etc. If you download their free themes, they may not help you in customization. The volunteers at www.remarpro.com cannot help you because they do not have access to such themes and other reasons – read this. In such a scenario, you have two options: either buy a theme including theme support or go for a free theme from WordPress repository for which you can expect support through these forums and the theme’s dedicated forum. You may look at some of the themes here:
