having issues with product variables and attributes,values not showing on site.

Hello, i have just opened a shop and trying to add a drop down to each product, so i have added each attribute and its values, then i got a bit stuck with variables, but added them anyway. And now what i see are the attributes with what should be a drop down but you click on it and nothing happens, no values are shown ?? any ideas?
