@markpine360 I understand you’re frustration, it’s not ideal considering your monetizing your site. Having said that the issue isn’t something we can resolve in the Site Kit forums unfortunately, we’re limited to plugin support. If you implement Auto ads manually and not with Site Kit the behavior will be the same.
To address your other points see below:
I can’t use Google auto ads with the WordPress 2021 theme with zero customization and a few plugins from reputable developers? I don’t understand how I’m the only one having this issue.
You can also insert manual ads if you prefer to pick and choose the ads and their placements. Or use the suggestions previously advised to ensure there are not anchor ads on the top of your page.
Note that it’s very unlikely you are the only user encountering this issue. AdSense Auto ads logic determines the position and placement of ads, which can sometimes result in layout shifts.
Why would I want to disable the ads? That’s how I make money on the site. Why do I need to place the code myself when I have auto ads?
I was trying to only provide some suggestions. What you are encountering is not Site Kit specific.
Everytime I post this issue for support I get responses with reasons why it can’t be fixed. If anyone is reading this please watch the video. I know there is a simple solution to this issue and for some reason every time I post about it I get bad advice.`
Sorry to hear you feel this way. I have provided answers to the best of my ability. For AdSense specific queries you may find better support using the appropriate channels, such as the AdSense Help Center.
You could also test out different themes and see if any of them suit your needs without any layout shift when using ads. I know it’s not ideal but there is nothing I can provide within the Site Kit plugin that will alter the behavior of your anchor ads.
