• OK, so right now I have a “photos” page that has sat stagnant for a long while. I’d like to start updating more often, but I’d like to do it like a photo blog. So what I’m wondering is if it’s possible to have another blog inside my currently running blog. Essentially the ability to post and select whether it gets posted to the front page, or to the photo page. Even better would the ability to SMS message post into the photo blog, but that may be wishing for too much.

    So, is this possible?

  • You could use multimple blogs, but have you looked at what Categories (or even Tags) could do for you?

But how would I prevent the photos from showing up on the main page? I see that I could make the photos page just a listing of all posts within the “photos” category, but then they’d show up on the main page, which is not what I’m looking for.

Unless there’s a way to set the main page to ignore some categories.

You could make the main page of posts ignore a category (see The Loop for examples) or use the static front page ability of WordPress to display a Page rather than posts on the main page.
