Haven't used a child theme but regretting it now!

    Hi,

    I downloaded a theme and have been happily modifiying it….. until I’ve just found out about “child themes”- is there any way that I can switch to the child theme model (without just starting again). Would a developer be able to make the transition?

    Any help would be greatly appreicated! Thanks!

  • Most of the time, it’s not really difficult to convert a modified parent into childtheme, but it depends on how the parent theme had been modified, and how much the chages made, also the quality of the parent theme itself too.

    Sometimes it’s better to stay that way, if the parent theme is built specific to the need and you know how to keep up to date with WP core.
