• When I click on the “Write” tab, I advance to a blank white screen. Did I miss a specific file when uploading?

Did you just install? If so, I recommend dumping the entire database, deleting all of the WordPress files, downloading WordPress again, and starting over from the beginning. It’s just a whole lot easier than trying to find out which file is the cause of the disturbance.

Ok, I’ll do that. Do I need to get rid of the tables in phpAdmin?

I’d say yes. Keep the DB but drop the tables. Otherwise WP will tell you during the install… “its seems you already have WP installed”.
