have the wp.ORG, need the wp.COM to activate plugins…unsure

    i need a bit of advice. I am doing my best to learn this jargon. I know from previous experience that I wanted a .ORG site
    I have a domain and a host…I had someone set up a theme and I have about 15 posts on the site.

    I have been made aware (since trying to activate my Askimet and Jetpack plug-ins) that I need a wordpress.COM site.

    ok…I go there and it asks me to pick a theme…and then wants to know if I want to map my domain for 13 dollars.
    im stuck. do i? i thought my domain was already “active” at my .ORG site or am I supposed to do BOTH?

    I have looked in the forums but it got a bit overwhelming. most people there were moving from COM to ORG… I think I am already on ORG but need to back track to COM to link it?
    do i need a new theme? my ORG already has a special theme..I don’t want to mess the current theme I paid for.
