I have been tied up with my real job lately and have not had a chance to even look at WordPress 3.9 (which was released today) with Google Forms. I usually try to test with a beta release but have not had a chance to do so.

If anyone has already upgraded to 3.9 and can report things are working correctly or not, please do.

  • Update to 3.9 and I now get the cURL error message.

    cURL transport was not detected

. The forms no longer pass any data. I’m testing with a simple form one paragraph field and one text field.
The result of an entry passes the timestamp but nothing in the two fields. Should I install cURL?

    Thank you,

    Installing cURL fixed the issue.

    Thank you,

Excellent. As near as I can tell, with the changes WordPress made to the HTTP API in WordPress 3.7, cURL is required to make Google Forms work reliably.

All if the details on why cURL is basically a requirement can be found in this post on my web site.

Since updating, I’m running into an issue where new pages are being redirected to a /wpgforms/ page.

Full disclosure, I’m using a heavily customized theme that I didn’t build that’s being used for my work. As a result, it’s difficult for me to provide a lot of information, since I can’t say with 100% certainty how this plugin is interacting with the theme.

In any case, it was working, but stopped working after I upgraded the plugin.

Let me know if you have any ideas, and I’d be happy to try and get more info for you.

Hi Mike, just an update regarding Google Forms plugin with WP version 3.9.

Some of the dashboard options such as Pages and Posts were brought to a HTTP 500 error page when I click on them. After disabling all plugins and activating them back one by one, I found the google form plugin to be the cause.

I have this plugin now disabled and everything is functioning like before (except the pages that contains the form). =)

Hope this information would help you to troubleshoot past version 3.9. Really like your plugin!

    Thanks!

Any chance you’re running WordPress SEO as well? I have a new beta build for testing addresses an incompatibility with WordPress SEO and at least one theme I am aware. You can find the download and details on my blog.

    Hi Mike,

Yes, bingo! I’m running WordPress SEO. So I will try it out today and let you know of the results soon.

    Thanks for the lead. =)

    Hi Mike,

I’ve tested around, the beta version seems to work fine!
