It’s quite likely I’ve not properly understood this, or perhaps I have a clash with another plugin…

1 In Dashboard, I only seem to be able to have a single note.
Should I be able to add more?

    2 On the front-end, I can’t move the box with a click-and-drag.

3 Some notes made through the front-end appear in the dashboard under ‘saved page/post notes’. Some don’t.

4 With individual posts, sometimes it saves the note and sometimes it doesn’t.

I’m not too bothered about #2, and I like the way I can make front-end notes and have them appear on the appropriate page in the back-end – this is useful when I’m reviewing my site for errors/improvement.

    Hi,

    1. At the moment the Dashboard is only able to save a single note, so unfortunately if you want to add additional notes you will have to add them to the same note field. I will work on changing that so you can have multiple notes, please keep an eye out for this updated feature in a later version of this plugin.
    2. This may be a plugin conflict, you should see your cursor turn into the four direction (move) cursor when you hover the dark grey part of the note box (I usually use the empty space after the “Lock Open” text).
    3. It looks like I forgot to include posts into the query to pull all of the notes, so its currently just pulling posts. I’ll update this soon to include both posts and pages. I’ll have to look into adding custom post type support.
    4. This might be due to the note being made on an archive type page. Currently the notes are saved to posts and pages only. Any page that is generated by WordPress such as blog archive pages or the front page generated by recent blog posts will not have the ability to save notes to them.
I may have to look into an alternative way to assign notes as they are currently saved using page/post meta.

Thank you for using the plugin and for your valuable feedback, I’ll work on updating the plugin with some of the fixes mentioned above.

Number 1 and 3 have been fixed in the latest release, number 4 has a partial fix, I have hid the notes button from areas of the site that are not capable of having notes saved to them due to them not being a page or post.
I’ll continue working on 2 and improving number 4, but I will not mark this as resolved until those have been fixed.

Sounds good. Thanks for your initiative.
