My blog (https://cassandraellen.com) has been inactive for about 6 months. I tried to log in today, but my old username seems to be “invalid.”

I attempted the ‘Lost your password?’ route, and realized that the email I had used has been deleted due to inactivity.

Is there any way to change the email address that WordPress has?
I changed my email in my www.remarpro.com profile, but when I enter that into my wp-admin/login, it says “ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.”

I am starting to wonder if my account has been hacked in some way, based on a number of threads in the forum.

Though, I run a second website (https://tweekdesign.ca) on the same server, and it seems to be completely unaffected.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Well, if the blog has been hacked, it looks like they at least upgraded it for you! ??

Hop directly into your database and reset the admin password. That should let you log back in and take a look around. The phpMyAdmin method is pretty straight forward if your host provides you with phpMyAdmin. There are some other methods and tutorials on that page as well.

    THANK YOU!

I very easily reset my admin password through phpMyAdmin, as you suggested, and it worked like a charm.

(I was so hesitant to do anything in phpMyAdmin, not knowing what to do, because the disclaimer is pretty scary.)

    Teehee!

I’m glad you got it working. It’s a little scary the first time, but it usually works out. Now you get to figure out what happened that locked you out. That’s the fun part!
