I have been using a theme forest template for over a year and a half.
No issues.
Now a couple of major ones out of the blue:

1. If you look at the jquery slider the transitions are all corrupted.
2. When I am in the WordPress app and try to add a photo, video etc.(via the icon) in a new post, it doesn’t respond.

If I try it on a new page, it works.
Obviously something has been corrupted. I would like to take the path of least resistance so if someone could give the quick method of trying to rectif this it would be much appreciated.
If that doesn’t work will then go the more drastic route.

Its a paid theme, so you can get theme support from the vendor you bought the theme from.

The problem with the WordPress editor itself is not a theme problem.
See #2 above.

see if it’s a plugin conflicting with something by deactivating all plugins. If the problem ceases, reactivate the plugins one by one to discover which one caused the problem

Isn’t one plugin required to manipulate the post with the slider? Check site functionality overall with this plugin activated and then with it not activated…If all else works, it’s the slider plugin that is the likely issue. A WordPress update, theme update, adding another plugin, or updating another plugin (including that one) may have created a compatibility issue…or any custom mods to the site files…

I am using a template so for some reason the jquery slider is integrated into the theme. In the plugin section of wordpress it doesn’t show up. My access to it is a simplified user interface incorporated into the theme.
How would I update this “plugin”?

As has been noted above, you need to ask the theme (template) developer or use another theme.

There are many great and free themes, and they also have great plugin support.

It is quite important to fully understand all of the information you have been linked to and has been responded to you in this post…

I suggest getting the site running with the default theme and no plugins and then taking the time to review all the information provided.

The reason I am seeking help here is because the theme author is not responding to my questions. I happen to really like the theme I am using and don’t want to go thru the process from scratch if I can avoid it. My question above was very simple about accessing the jquery plugin. I appreciate the responses nontheless.

As this is a commercial theme and its template files are not publically accessible, we can’t really help. You need to seek support from the theme vendors.
