have ftp client, but can't open, create, edit css or php files?

  • hi. i’m a noob.

    i’m interested in creating/manipulating a theme to make it custom, and i’m struggling looking at countless tutorials etc. online.
    i’ve got firezilla on my mac, and i’m reading all these tutorials that are saying “open up your favorite text editor…now save it as blah.php or blah.css”….i can’t do either of these things.

    can someone point me in the right direction? i’m obviously lost.

  • Why are you trying to edit php or css files? Do you even know these languages? Judging from not knowing how to save a file as php, i’m assuming no, so my strong warning is to leave them alone, you’ll just break your site.

    What’s your site address and what are you trying to change?
