    Hi there,
Freaking out about GDPR and was wondering if there is a way to set up the form so that all it does is take people to my MailChimp main signup form which has the required text for that new GDPR thing? I like the form and get lots of new subscribers because of it, but I can’t figure out how to set it up so that it is compliant.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

We are looking into it. It might be as simple as adding an extra checkbox at the bottom of the form like for example at the bottom of webdesignerdepot.com

But in case it needs to be something like shown on Mailchimp forms builder then it’s a bit problematic.

Thanks for the quick reply! I honestly don’t know exactly what is required… But as long as the European Union is OK with a checkbox, so am I! ?? Will you be updating the plugin to include the checkbox?

From what I’ve been able to understand a checkbox will be enough for this specific purpose. But I’m still looking into it, so I’m not 100% sure at the moment.

If a checkbox is enough, we’ll release the update this week. The GDPR “compatibility” deadline is May 25th.

Just released the update, it adds a checkbox for the visitor to confirm the subscription and has a link to the privacy policy of the newsletter system provider. It’s on by default and can be disabled under “Form Options”.

Based on the research I’ve done that’s all that is needed to be GDPR compliant. But pretty much every article I’ve read made sure to point out that it’s not 100% definite information and is best to talk to a lawyer.

We’ll keep monitoring the situation and if other changes are needed we’ll implement them.

    Awesome, thank you so much!!

    You’re welcome.

How can I have it registered in mailchimp under a GDPR field? I did not use one of the default GDPR options in mailchimp but created my own option. This option is not automatically checked after registration although it is the only GDPR option I have defined for this list.

MY APOLOGIES, THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A GLITCH, it is working!
