Have featured image link to full size version?

  • My theme uses a featured image in every post. Often, the featured image I upload is the exact size displayed by the post. However sometimes I’ll upload a larger image that is then cropped by WordPress to display in the post. In these (and only these) situations, how can I have that featured image clickable so that it displays the full resolution copy of the image? And, as an aside, could someone recommend a decent lightbox plugin that could be used in these (again, only these) situations?
