Have added new users previously but now can't.

  • I have a WordPress network on my own hosting. Have previously added new users without a hitch. That may well have been before I was on 4.5.3–en_GB but cannot be certain about that. I am using the theme 2016. I am trying to create a new user and no e-mail is received, no new user is created even when the e-mail option is turned off.

    I have been trying to create a new user for 24 hours now and have even tried changing themes just to see if that is an issue.

    I have looked at previous forum postings but cannot see anything relevant. Any advice or pointers on this would be most gratefully received.
