• Hi, it appears in Google Search Console that I have hatom error in my blog posts and pages. In blog posts “author” is missing, and in pages “author” and “updated”.
I searched in google to find a solution but it’s useless, or I can’t find the right code to get rid of this error.
Do you have a solution that is right for this theme?

    Thanks for answering ??

  • Hi @aleks1319,

Could you please test your site using Google’s newer testing tool? I’m not able to view any errors with the Sela theme active here:

    https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool

Although the fields you listed used to be required, they should no longer be.

I believe that the newer tool will show no errors for your site. If you do see errors with that tool, please let me know the specific pages of your site that you’re seeing them for.

    Thanks!

I tested the sites with errors, and this tester shows 0 errors or warnings which is fine. But those errors are still showing on Google Search Console. Should I be worried? Does this affect ranking in google at all?

Thank you for such a quick answer ??

    Hi @aleks1319,

We’re unsure why an error is shown in Google Search Console for Sela but have previously dug into the markup and come to the conclusion that the theme’s markup is correct.

Google points to the second testing tool in its documentation: ?

As the second tool does not show any errors, in addition to the developers confirming that the theme uses correct markup, Google should still be able to scan and read your site correctly.

If you can provide a link to your site, I can double check your site’s markup also.
