I’ve been asked to remedy a problem with a sites URL’s.

Very recently all of the sites pages have been showing the URL as https://www.***.com/#axzz2s4mKKyfg. The Hashtag and its following characters are being added somewhere and always with the same characters.

After doing some digging a number of comments were coming through with the AddThis plugin could be causing the problem, but this plugin isn’t installed. I’ve also disabled all other plugins to try and find the culprit but this had no effect.

I’ve been going round in circles trying to remedy this with no joy.

Anybody any ideas?

Ajax uses hashtags in generated urls. Does that ring any bells?

I seem to recall some similar issues in the past being caused by the “Add This” plugin, or something of that nature. Maybe it’s plugin related.

I tried disabling all plugins with no change and AddThis isn’t installed anyway.

Webbrewers. Not sure on that, I’m not really up on Ajax.

What’s the site url and what theme are you using?

AddThis isn’t the only plugin that adds anchor codes for tracking. I can’t think of any of the other ones offhand, but since this code doesn’t start with a period (.) this isn’t from our plugin. If you post the URL I’ll be happy to track down the script for you.

Thanks for the responses. The URL for the site is https://www.actualorganics.com and the theme in use is Magzinize by Vennerlabs.

Have you tried disabling all plugins, to see if the issue goes away? If you do that and the problem disappears, re-enable plugins one by one until you see the problem come back. That will help you pinpoint the source of the issue.
