Has this plugin been abandoned?

This plugin is perfect for my needs, but when I manually set the categories for the “Product Categories Grid” it displays on my websitesfront end, but if I return to the admin page I get the message:
“This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”
in the console
“Uncaught Error: Rendered fewer hooks than expected. This may be caused by an accidental early return statement.”
