Has the plugin been abandoned?

I received a Wordfence notification that the plugin may have been abandoned as it has not been updated for 2+ years. Should there be any cause for concern? I can see that the plugin developer is still actively monitoring the support forum and replying as needed. Perhaps there is a planned update coming soon that will, at the very least if nothing else requires updating, confirm compatibility with the current version of WordPress? TIA!
