Has Freshchat plugin been abandoned?

    Trying to updated my client’s site and he wants to use Freshchat, however as of this writing, it hasn’t been updated in a year and is untested with the last 3 major WP updates. Would the developer kindly respond if they have any plans on updating and testing this plugin with the current WP core, 5.7.1?

    Hello and Update on this issue:

    My client was finally able to get Freshchat Support to respond to him though, ironically or not, they would never reply to me, the one working on this issue. Freshchat said they have no plans to work on this plugin. Lovely.

    The workaround they did suggest and does work, though you need to have them provide a javascript snippet specific to your Freshchat account:
    Install/activate Header Footer Code Manager (HFCM) by 99 Robots and create a snippet. Follow the instructions here and it should work. It did for me, but hope to not ever have to deal with them again.
