    Hi,
The Plugin has been removed from www.remarpro.com!
Is there any security issue with it?

  • I also want to know this. It’s weird how WordPress can be vague on such important matter. I guess I have to check the code myself. I’ll post here if I find something.

Yes it would be good to know what’s going on. Do we need to disable this plugin? If there is an issue does it affect the latest version and not older versions etc?

There’s been zero communication about this anywhere. Not on the blog, not on Twitter, not here. And it’s not even the first time this has happened to this plugin lmao.

I think it is a security issue which is probably why they don’t talk about it. not that this is a good idea, as hackers can also look for themselves. I checked the plugin github and I noticed the recent code added seemed to me like a security patch. wordpress can take sometime to approve changes. my advice is to disable the plugin, then copy the files outside public html until an update released.

still no word here? what’s going on?

If there is a security problem, it would be nice to read about it.
They don′t need to explain the problem, only a notice that there is one.

Thank you antihacker for sending me a notice

This post from 2017 might be intessting but seem to be a different Plugin?
    https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2017/12/backdoor-captcha-plugin/

Yeah, I recall that one, it was a different plugin that they offloaded to some other devs. It was just the plain ol’ free captcha plugin, whereas the current reCaptcha plugin uses the Google reCaptcha methods.

It’s back now. and there are security fixes. so you guys need to update!
