• It’s not very compatible with WPML (and per what I saw in support notes also not with other translations plugins). To translate the list of cookies you need to open each one and translate it separately. Many things can only be translated through the WPML “String Translation”. There is no list of “Cookie Types”, list of “cookie durations” etc. It’s not made for multilingual sites really.

Similarly, when a customer is sent to a language version of my site through a specific link, when he has never been there before, he is redirected automatically to the English home page with the English cookie banner. And when clicking accept, he is not redirected back to the URL he clicked on either, just sticks on the home page.

Considering “GDPR” is for EUROPE mostly, you would think that translations would be one of the key priorities of such a plugin.

The plugin is otherwise quite good (for the English site)

    Hi @jkocken,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

To translate our plugin, use the WPML translation plugin. Go to Themes and Plugin localization in WPML, select our plugin name, and WPML will scan for all text. You can translate “Type” and “Duration” in the string translation section.

It appears that the problem with the English page redirection is not caused by our plugin. However, if you could provide more details about this issue along with the site URL, we would be happy to investigate further.

We have recently launched a revamped plugin that comes with upgraded translation capabilities. If possible try this version. To switch to this new version, kindly refer to the guidelines outlined in our documentation.
