Hard going
-
I’ve used this plugin for a few months.
Good points: it does work, and the author is still updating and improving it.
Overall, though, it was a bit of a painful experience. The user interface is not obvious to navigate, order statuses are not being tracked (I learned that’s a feature of the paid plugin – which I don’t object to as such; but, it means that on the free version you have to manually review every single affiliate purchase which means it’s only suitable for very low volume situations), the integration with WooCommerce is awkward (e.g. you have to click through to see which order number an affiliate hit corresponded to) and after going through all the settings pages multiple times I could not find a way to mark an affiliate as having been paid (the affiliates’ pages show their payment amounts – but I couldn’t see how to change it from zero) – nor was I able in the time I invested to discover if that’s because it’s a paid feature, or not.
I considered the paid version in the hope that some of these things were fixed, but I was not confident that I’d have a better experience (especially the amount of time I needed each time I went hunting for something in the user interface). I decided to buy a different product from another vendor, and had a very easy time with it, which convinced me that it can be done better.
I have no complaints: it’s a free plugin, and the author doesn’t have to give anyone anything for free. But, as a review, I’d say that the money I saved going for this plugin was less than what I lost in trying to make it work out for me.
