Hard-coded wp-content paths

The name/location of the wp-content directory can be customized per WordPress’s documentation. For example, when using Roots’s Bedrock framework.
The plugin has this directory hard-coded in some CSS files, which causes 404s for background images in the admin, among other things.

We see that they rename the WordPress
wp-content/directory toapp/.We think the issue you’re seeing is related to this open item.

If that’s the case, you can override Popup Maker’s CSS with your own local CSS copy to fix that.

Once you have your own local copy, you can do a global replace on that
