    Hi,
This is the 2nd time in two days I’ve tried this (had to destroy and reinstall after the first time).

When I attempt to import, it hangs on “restoring database” indefinitely. If I attempt to open another browser window and log in, it will use neither the OLD credentials and password, nor the new imported one. So I’m locked out of wordpress and the loop never finishes on the other page. It’s REALLY frustrating. I’m afraid to upgrade ever again because this didn’t happen with the old one and I’m scared to ever use this professionally if it’s screwing my own sites up like this for days. Please advise! This had been a godsend until now. Thanks.

For more info if it helps, it locks me out in such a way that entering a username and password doesn’t even return an error. It just says waiting for https://www.yourdomain.com and then “transferring from https://www.yourdomain.com” and never says that the password or username works or not. It just says nothing.

    Hi digitalretouch,

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
Does the homepage look like it has been restored?

    Hi,

I have exact the same issue. Tired it a couple of times. Have the same plugin and wp version. Tried two different servers. Each time it hangs on restoring database. By clicking away the tab, I can abort the action, everything else doesn’t change a thing. After this I have to install wp and try again. The homepage won’t load. I think it’s the same for digitalretouch.

Same problem here. Exported a small one page site from Bluehost to InMotion and changed the domain. Export went well until a dialog box asked if I wanted to write over existing database. Since the receiving site was fresh with no real content, I clicked yes. Then continued for more than half an hour with “Restoring Database.” Believe me, there’s nothing big in the database. By then, the browser was frozen and I had to close it. After that, I could no longer log in. The nice WP UI login screen was gone, replaced by a generic login on the left side of the screen that did not work with correct username and PW, returning 500 error. Been that way ever since.

I’ve looked at potential remedies on the WP support forums, and none seems to work for me. Please help. I must get this up and running in a few days.

    Many thanks
