• Hello,
We’ve used your plugin for a while now and really like it but last week we started seeing that having the plugin activated on that site was leaving a lot of hanging database connections. The DB connections don’t drop off even after the browser window is completely closed.

This eventually causes problems for other sites on the server as the DB server is out of connections, so we’ve deactivated the plugin for now.

I deleted the plugin and reinstalled it, though it was updated to the most recent version, but the problem persists.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

Well the plugin doesn’t use any DB connection as it stores comments directly to Facebook and retrieve them directly from Facebook when anyone visit the page. So there is nothing to do with local DB of the site. Even if you delete complete the site and DB and use same URL with a fresh installation, all the comments will be back from Facebook.

But there is another possibility that you may have installed another Facebook plugin which uses local DB and that may conflict with our plugin. You can try by deactivating that plugin and check. Also you can take help by checking console of your site.

Please let us know for further details or any assistance if you like.

    Hello,
I understand that your plugin doesn’t store comments to the DB but surely it connects with the DB in some fashion (even simply to acknowledge that it is activated, or to view the FB account details).

I’ve deactivated all other plugins that are remotely related to Facebook, and when I enable your plugin my DB connections immediately start to increase and they do not seem to get closed. Seven new connections in under 30 seconds. This would be fine if they were closed, but they do not. All we can do is either kill the connections or wait for them to eventually time out.
