• I am building a website for a race team. Each year the team attends the same events. How are these events handles year after year?

The current event uses a subdirectory of event/event-name. What happens when I create the event for next year? Will, it just updates the first event page, or will I need to put the year in the event title to distinguish each new season?

    Thank you

  • Hi!

    Thanks for reaching out.

Each event is separated from past or future events.

The “folder” structure you see is actually just how WordPress creates the URL. If there are other items with the same name it usually adds -1, -2 and so on to differentiate. WordPress won’t create two events with the same permalink.

    Thanks!

Ok, so I would want to add the year to the event name to create a more structured URL?

    That helps. Thank you

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply.

That’s a great idea. You could add the year in your event’s name so it will always have a nice URL.

    THanks!
