    Hi there,

I do not fully unterstand what will happen with subscriber addresses which have the “bounced” status.

I had a database of around 1000 addresses and 100 are bounced. By looking at the list, I saw a few misspelled addresses, corrected them and set status back to “subscribed” manually. Easy, great.

Some bounced addresses however actually seem to be right, they are even published on the recipients webpage(s). If I have identified about 20 of 100 addresses that should be ok – is there a way quickly set their status to “subscribed”?

When I view the bounced subscribers list, I can set the view to show all on one page and select some, but I am missing an option or button to “change status to…”

Or … will check MailPoet all bounced addresses again automagically when a new newsletter is being sent??

  • Hi,

    Let me explain this

I do not fully unterstand what will happen with subscriber addresses which have the “bounced” status.

“bounced” is just a status like “subscribed” / “unsubscribed” , you will decide what you are going to do with “subscribers with bounced status”.

If I have identified about 20 of 100 addresses that should be ok – is there a way quickly set their status to “subscribed”?

Even if recipients email address is visible in somewhere important you think but that email address could be bounced. Our plugin programatically detect bounced based on various criteria so there is very less chance of error. If you find any email address is active but our plugin has detected as bounced please open a new support ticket here in this forum. We will be glad to help you.

There is no way to change subscriber status in bulk ??

Or … will check MailPoet all bounced addresses again automagically when a new newsletter is being sent??

It will up to you, you can resend your newsletter to subscribers those emails are already bounced. After sending newsletter you may have to wait 1 to 3 days to see the bounce detection result, time depends on ’email sending service’ response rate. For example, Gmail responded on bounced email almost instantly.

Thanks for using this plugin ??

Thank you for answering so much in detail! ??

Some more questions please. At settings 1. When mailbox is full after 3 tries and 2. When mailbox is not available I can choose “unsubscribe” or “delete”, is that what you mean?

But what will happen with addresses which now have the “bounced” status; technically they are still subscribed (or enlisted). But if I send a new newsletter, they won’t be used, right?
Or is there an option which I am just missing, to wheter include or exclude bounced addresses for sending?

    1. When mailbox is full after 3 tries and 2. When mailbox is not available I can choose “unsubscribe” or “delete”, is that what you mean?

That means what action you will set if subscriber email get bounced 3 times in a row for a reason of “mailbox is full” .

If subscriber email get bounced for reason of “mailbox not available” than you can set “unscribe” or “delete” action. “delete” will remove subscriber from list.

But what will happen with addresses which now have the “bounced” status; technically they are still subscribed (or enlisted). But if I send a new newsletter, they won’t be used, right?

“bounced” status subscriber will not be sent newsletter.
