I guess this is more of a feature request. My site is a little slow so when I have a product with hundreds of variations and the new ajax handling kicks in on the front end, it can take 5 seconds or so for the price to change when the user is selecting variations. It would be really nice if there was a little spinner graphic next to the price that shows the user that something is happening while it’s retrieving the new price. Any chance this is in the works?

    Thanks.

Can you please post an URL to the product in question so I can test it on my end?

FYI, it’s only the Print Size that affects the price.

    Thanks.

So I just tried loading that page however it is not loading for me. I have waited 30 seconds but still no go.

Good timing. The site just went down for a bit… We need to move to a better server obviously to handle these variations and CPU rampage. Should be up again in a sec.

Ok so perhaps all this stems from a under performing host? Because 20+ variations is not considered too much.

The “20+ variations” was referring to the new WooCommerce feature that anything over 20 variations will use AJAX when changing variations to retrieve the updated cost. That’s what WooCommerce was calling it. The actual number of variations on these products that I have is 6875.

I was just requesting a feature that when you change a variation, that a spinner show up beside the price that shows that something is happening while it retrieves the updated price. As I said, more of a feature request than an issue.

I understand what the ajax feature is and I like it… Not trying to change the threshold.

I’m just suggesting that a hidden spinner graphic be added beside the price so that when the price is updated and the ajax is making the request to update the price, that the spinner is shown so the user knows that a calculation is being made.

Otherwise, the user could change a variation and assume that it’s the same price unless they wait the full 5-10 seconds it takes for it to update.

Noted. If I see many demand for this in the future, we’ll consider it.
