Something changed, but can’t figure out what. Site was working yesterday, today, the navigation, and various other CSS stopped working or disappeared. I disabled FVM, and everything went back to normal.

I wasn’t getting any noticeable error message. Any way to determine the cause or fix? Clearing cache and FVM cache didn’t help.

Sorry, can’t link to site at the moment.

    Did you update something else?
Did you purge the cache on FVM and on the server properly?

Clearing your browser cache doesn’t matter, because FVM changes the file name.

But those CSS and JS files are downloaded via http, so if at a moment, one of them is not available or return an error, FVM won’t be able to download it, thus causing that.

Check the logs on the FVM status page, for possible 0 byte merged files.
If they are empty, and if the original file is not empty, then wordpress couldn’t download it properly (FVM uses the official wordpress hook to download the files).
