A user with Editor rather than Admin privileges needed to create and edit a table. After making sure that Editors had those privileges (using User Role Editor plugin) he was not able to actually see a table he added nor edit it. However, once I moved where TablePress was located–I moved it to the Pages section–it worked fine, although the various options (all tables, add, import, etc.) were only in tabs at the top rather than in the Dashboard. Problem fixed for us, but you may want to know about it.

This had never happened before. Site had been updated to the latest TablePress 1.1.2 and latest WordPress 5.5.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

This sounds really strange. Normally, you don’t have to adjust any access rights to allow Editors to edit tables in TablePress. My guess is that some capabilities were not set properly which might have made this necessary.

    Regards,
    Tobias
