• Hello everyone…
I was recently brought into a project where the client had two sites that were infected with malware. One was really bad with over 150 files affected.

I installed Wordfence and went through each file rmoving bogus files and removing the bad code out of the files that had the code inside them.

I re-ran Wordfence a few times and my scans are coming back clean now.

However, I’m a bit on the paranoia side so I downloaded the database and opened the file in a text editor and I’ve run across a ton of data that looks like this.

Is this a sign that the database has been corrupted? What is this, all these strange characters in the database file.

The website seems functional but this doesn’t look right. Can anyone advise me on what to do with this and how to proceed.
