    Hello,

I’ve built a glossary with 105 terms related to crypto.
They were supposed to just act as glossary by hovering terms on posts, and as a way to bring in new users by searching for definitions, as such, there were no links to each term.

I had customized the URL for eah term to be /domain/dicionario-cripto/*term* , instead of glossary.

I had run the tests and they were getting indexed.
For no apparent reason now all terms result in 404 pages, i’ve already tried to remove the customized URL and set it back to glossary with no success.
I’ve also tried deactivating and reactivating the plugin-

It’d be greatly appreciated if you could help,
    Thanks for the attention

  • Hi you need to flush the permalink after you change the slug.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I’ve just tried flushing, but the problem persists.

Just using the first term as example, this like all the others are published, but either give you a 404 or redirect back to the homepage.
On the glossary menu that allows to add new terms, the same will happen. There is no option below the title to open the term on its own page.

So this is a permalink issue insude the wordpress instance.
What is the new slug? Do you have a cache system?

The new slug was dicionario-cripto/*term* , but I’ve already removed that after the problem appeared.

On the Glossary Settings I set it to glossary, and as such that is the current slug. I’ve also cleared the cache, with no visible effects.

Everytime you change the slug and save, you need to flush the permalink.

Just proceeded to flush after correcting the slug, problem still here.
Could this be an issue within the wordpress folder structure, where correcting folder names would help it go back to normal?

    Alternatively,
Is there a way to save the terms already inserted? If so then I could uninstall the plugin and upload the already made list after the reinstall. This would probably correct the folder structure.

You can export the terms with the plugin you want but the issue is on permalink, so there is something that doesn’t work in your wordpress instance with changes to a post type slug.
There could be various reasons for this from the caching to permalink unflushed, plugin conflicts, cdn and so on.
I can’t give more information to debug the issue as I don’t have the admin access and we have this kind of support only for the premium users.

Our plugin just alter as setting the post type slug and the permalink require to be updated in wordpress to see the changes otherwise there is a 404.
Upload/reinstall the plugin don’t fix the issue as the WordPress database is the same, also removing the plugin doesn’t remove the term you have uploaded.

    Closing after 3 weeks
