Hacking post time stamps

Hi fellow wordpressers ??

Question: I wan tot publish a post now but for it to show as if it is published for a later day.

E.g. I am publishing a post in the events category. Event is upcoming in the future so I want to show up on my calendar widget as in , say 2 weeks time, but I need to publish it now so that people see the post and can prepare for the event.
