HACKING OF WORDPRRESS INSTALLATIONS

    We have come across problem with HACKING of websites on cpanel Linux servers which use WordPress 2.9 and above versions.

    All the website data like installation files / wp-admin / wp-content/ files are completely removed and a modified index.htm file and one c299.php file is injected in to the root of the website. So far no harm has been done to the Mysql DB.

    The hacked page gets a <title>Own3D By Dr.JEeNTeL</title> and content gets changed. – Own3D By Dr.JEeNTeL

    We have tried changing the WHM and cpanel password many times but it does not help as I feel the hack comes through a wordpress exploit.

    Please update us on this issue and take up the matter with WordPress Support to enable us to resolve the problem.
