Hackered Site: WP problem or Domain (DNS) problem?

Hello everyone, I am really distressed because tonight I went to a website I have done a while ago and I found It has been hacked. I received a mail from WP telling that the WP version has been automatically updated, so I just checked to see if all was right, but I found that surprise! The page, supposed to be the index of my site, displays a black screen reporting these words: “Ur site has been Touched by Berandal Patch ur security, cause we’re not the only one hacker in this [redacted] world“.
I think it’s not due to the version upgrade, but actually to some hackers.
The page reported a link to a Facebook page where I could chat with a person who told me he “just jumped from another site while uploading his index page” he said he would fix my page tomorrow when he wake up, he just gave me his credentials to enter wp admin and I could notice all the content of my site was there, everything is untouched, the only problem is the url points to OwlSquad page. I’m wondering if it is a wp problem due to a lack of upgrading version, or if it’s due to a DNS bug since all the content in my remote site directories seem to be untouched.
Anyone of you has ever experienced such a problem? Any suggestions?Thanks in advance

- Change passwords for all users, especially Administrators and Editors.
- If you upload files to your site via FTP, change your FTP password.
- Re-install the latest version of WordPress.
- Make sure all of your plugins and themes are up-to-date.
- Update your security keys.
Just cleaning out files isn’t enough. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.
