Hacker damage

    My WordPress account was hacked yesterday. The homepage was replaced but I fixed that by re-uploading the “themes” folder from a backup. Now all the other pages and posts are missing on the live site but still there in the dashboard. Is there an easy troubleshoot for this type of problem?

  • Does your host have a backup of your site? Usually they keep either daily or weekly backups.

    No, I don’t think so. Waiting to hear back from their support though.

    if you have access to the SQL database you should investigate the pages/posts are still there…and so are the hackers injections.

    For this particular wp hack (hacked by hacker) delete the index files in the main folder and change your permalink settings to something else, then change it back. This should solve the problem.
