Hacked WP 3.9

Several of my website where just hacked within the last 24hrs. All sites that I upgraded to WP 3.9 where hacked.
I am working with hostgator but please help me understand why and how to prevent this from moving forward!
They are corporate sites and it is critical to my business!
Also should I go back to WP 3.8.3? If so I don’t have the download for it. Can someone please send me the file or link for WP 3.8.3.
Please advice how I should more forward to prevent this from happening again!!!!
