1. Install the plugin “WordFence” and run a “high sensitivity” scan.

2. Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

I checked it with Sucuri and it doesn’t seem to have malware.

Of course, it’s a good idea to scan the files in the back-end as well.

My antivirus does prevent me to access your site and warns me that your SSL certificate has expired, so that might cause trouble. That’s not malware, but you should update your SSL certificate.

Anyway, if you did somehow get hacked, follow this guide.

Thanks for all the help. I will be running WordFence now and having a cup of tea (very English!). It looks like it is a broken ssl cert causing problems but I am going ahead with the suggestions.

I have discovered the htaccess file got hacked. I am hoping to restore from backup.

Not getting any SSL expiration warning now, but you still have Mixed Content issues, meaning that you still have some internal links that are served via HTTP, not HTTPS.

This plugin should solve most of the issues or even all of them.

What remains needs to be solved manually, meaning that you’ll have to look at your source code and search for any internal links that are served via HTTP, then go and change the links to HTTPS in your posts, or pages, or page builder, or theme options, and so on.

Backup your site, just in case.
