h.264 mp4 video not displaying on smartphone

I’ve installed WordPress Video Gallery, uploaded (3) h.264 mp4 videos and 1 mp3 audio file into the gallery. They all play correctly on a PC, but not on an android smartphone.
The phone I’m using is a Samsung Galaxy S5 and I’ve tried to play the files using Firefox browser and Chrome browser for android. Neither one will work.
They both show an error window that says:
“Player does not support this video.”
How can you make the plugin use an html5 player for smartphones and mobile devices? What is the answer here?
