    Hello,

I have been looking at all sorts of videos for this but nothing answers my question. Looking at my paragraph of text there are at least 6 separate keywords that i want to highlight for seo purposes. When i select the keyword and try to make it h2 in the visual editor the entire paragraph is made h2. How do i make only certain words in the paragraph h2?

Am i looking at this wrong? Is this not what i should be doing for seo purposes? i have a suspicion this may be the case as i really do not know why know videos online are not talking about such a basic issue and why wordpress will not even allow me to do this with ease.

    Your help is much appreciated.

    You’re looking at this wrong.

The h2 html tag is block level, so it always applies to a whole paragraph.

Because, a heading isn’t just a word or words: it’s got a purpose, which is to break up long blocks of text, introduce the next block of text and provide someone reading the page with a helpful way to scan the content.

Write proper headings in plain English that are meaningful and relevant to the content. Ideally, yes you can include keywords within them – but it’s better for them to be well written and meaningful than stuffed with keywords.

Worry about the quality of your content first, not SEO. If your content is good, and you use headings etc properly, to some extent the SEO will sort itself out (but obviously, much more complex than that!)

Thank you for your reply Jason. Much appreciated. I wonder if you could advise me a little further. Going on what you have said i have edited my paragraph on my homepage:

    https://24gh.clashingbeavers.com/

    <H1> 24 Guesthouse, Chiang mai </H1>
    <H2>The rooms:</H2>
    <H2>Services:</H2>
    <H2>Attractions:</H2>
    <H2>Tour booking:</H2>

Is this how i should be doing it? any other input on improving the seo? Thank you for your time Jason.

You can control what each heading looks like consistently through your site using a CSS style sheet that specifies the font, size, color, and other attributes for each Heading tag.
