Hi. We are wondering why we are getting flagged for a “Single title” under “Analysis results” on some pages on our site.

The error is: “Single title: H1s should only be used as your main title. Find all H1s in your text that aren’t your main title and change them to a lower heading level!”

We are using a page builder, and only ONE text block is using the <H1> tag. We can verify this when we look at the page’s source.

Where is this warning coming from?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @gregsgraphics

We understand you are asking about multiple H1s being detected when using the content analysis of Yoast SEO and your chosen page builder.

By default, WordPress and most themes use H1 as the page title, outside of the content editor. Because of this, when the Yoast SEO plugin finds any H1 in the main content, it will warn you about having multiple headings.

Since most page builders allow you to edit the page title in the content area, you can disregard this message.

Whenever the single title warning appears using a page builder, we recommend manually checking the page source. If you don’t see multiple H1 headings, you can ignore them since there isn’t a problem, as this would be a false positive.

We can confirm that the page you need help with only has a single H1, so you can ignore it as it is a false positive.
