    Hi
our hosting says GZip is working fine. However your plugin gives following error

    Gzip is not working properly:

Your server may not have the “deflate” module enabled (mod_deflate for Apache, ngx_http_gzip_module for NGINX). Contact your host. If deflate is enabled, ask why all .htaccess or nginx.conf compression rules are not being applied. If re-checking and restarting does not resolve, please check with your host or open a support ticket.

Gzip compresses your web pages and style sheets before sending them over to the browser. This drastically reduces transfer time since the files are much smaller.

1 of your compression types are inactive. Configure compression for all files types below.

  • Hi @naumanbilytica,

I’m afraid that the domain you shared isn’t loading for me, is /tgs/ a specific page of your site or a subsite within a network?

Do you see in the report which files are reported for GZIP compression and are the files that are reported hosted on the same server or they are pulled from external sources, like Google or Facebook scripts for example?

    Cheers,
    Predrag

    Hi

https://www.trackqlik.com/tgs/field-delivery-tracking-software-in-sample-tample/ is a multisite . Your plugin does not work for HTML GZIP Compression..Your same plugin works for primary site https://www.trackqlik.com
both are hosted on same server. Your plugin works different for both.

It seems your plugin does not support multisite for Gzip
There is no technical issue from our server side for GZIP on Apache

    Hello @naumanbilytica

    I hope you’re well today!

    I checked following URLs:

    1) https://www.trackqlik.com/tgs/field-delivery-tracking-software-in-sample-tample/
    2) https://www.trackqlik.com/
    3) https://www.bilytica.com/tgs/
    4) https://www.bilytica.com/

URLs 1,2 and 4 are loading sites for me and those sites seem to have GZIP compression enabled and working fine. URL 3 doesn’t even load at all for me and I can’t test it.

I’m not sure how your multisite is set up/configured but if there are some redirects and/or domains are mapped (especially if they are not mapped via native WP domain mapping but using some external plugin or some non-standard way) or its using some aliases – plugin might just fail to check if compression is enabled.

It’s important to note that plugin itself is not performing this compression. It’s a server-side thing and Hummingbird only lets you control it if server allows for such control. Some hosts don’t allow this and keep the compression on or off “for good”.

That is, if it comes to resources/files that are served from your site/domains and not external sources (e.g. images fetched from 3rd-party locations or JS files loaded from Google directly and so on) – such resources can only be set to be compressed on their source servers.

    Kind regards,
    Adam
