Check your version of PHP make sure its at least version 7. Check with your hosting service to see if they can help. I’ve seen several people having problems with GoDaddy hosting not updating.

First step: Resave your Permalink settings. It can fix the problem sometimes, and it won’t hurt to try it.

    hi otto,
looked around re resaving permalinks but nothing of substance. can you flush out a bit further, it would be appreciated.

that said, i’m running php 5.6. and maybe that’s the problem.

however when i went to php v7.1 site crashed and error log suggests plugins though the respective plug developers stand by their latest. so testing that.

do we know if wp 4.9.8 can handle php v7 because that seems to be one mission here, get the site to handle php upgrade

i’m in php v7.0 with half my plugins turned off. i can edit and save a post in quick-edit mode and save, ie., categories, tags via all posts. on in post edit itself nothing is saved/updated.

i published what i saved and permalink looks normal – otto

we reinstalled WP v5.0 and installed and activated classic editor plugin v1.2 and everything is working fine regarding adding content.

Solved updating my php.ini with this directive:
    always_populate_raw_post_data: -1
