Gutenberg should be a plugin.

  • Personally I like the flexibility to choose which tools I want to use in WordPress, whether TinyMCE, Gutenberg or ACF, and to change my mind at any time. This feature of WordPress, its customizability, is what I like. Putting everything into core reduces that flexibility and limits options for those with different editing and working styles. I think Gutenberg should be a plugin and not integrated into core.

    I agree that flexibility to chose tools is great, however we have to all think about how everyone uses WordPress. Thank you for your insights into how you use it though. What one thing would change your mind to want Gutenberg in core?
