• If I wanted to have paragraphs with images left or right justified, with a nice gutter around them, which block would I use?

So far I have tried with separate image and paragraph blocks, which appear to not offer this. Then I tried gutenberg media and text block. This places the image to the left or right, but only in the middle of the paragraph, without the ability to move the image up to the beginning of the first word in the paragraph.

Also the text appears Large by default, not normal paragraph size.

Then I went looking for Classic Block, because I saw that on previous posts that have exactly what I want, but it appears they are not available for new posts.

So is my only option to do this on new posts with the Classic Editor?

    Thanks

Whoops. I found Classic Block. I’ll use that.

Hi @loosefast. You should be able to use a normal image block. Upload the image, and then from the block toolbar there’s an option to align the block left or right. You can then change the size of the image to make sure there’s space for text to flow around it. You’ll probably also need to add the image block before the text.

    talldanwp,

I should have mentioned that I’m trying to do this is inside a Column Block. I’m pretty sure I tried what you say here, and the image could only appear above or below the Paragraph Block. I just tried dragging the Image & Paragraph Blocks inside a column and the image is no longer left justified to the text.

Looks like Columns require the Classic Block?

    Thanks

It does seem to work inside a column as well.

    Here’s what I did:

    1. Add a columns block by typing /columns inside a new block and hitting enter.
    2. Add an image block by typing /image and hitting enter.
    3. Add some text in a paragraph block after the image block (this can be a bit tricky, but there should be a plus button just under the image block if you move your mouse, or you can use the down arrow key a couple of times).
    3. Select an image from my media library in the image block
    4. Made the image smaller so that text can sit alongside it.
    5. From the block toolbar, aligned the image to the left.

After doing this I had an image inside a column aligned to the left of the column, and text to the right of the image.
