gutenberg mangles images

  • it seems there are a lot of problems with images and Gutenberg editor. Often high resolution images are only inserted as smaller 1024 wide images when I need more as my site is 2000 pixels wide.

    This has to be fixed, just because other sites are designed for a postage stamp.

    Once you’ve embedded the image there’s a panel on the right where you have a number of size options. You could choose “Full Size” and just get a big one, or you can use the numerical chooser and simply set whatever dimensions you want.

    I do not see that with my theme, all i get is the 1024 large instead of the full monty

    Maybe WP needs an option for native resolution instead of some fuzzy XGA image
