When I’m using the latest gutenberg and meow gallery, it generally works fine except when I edit as HTML (let’s say I need to quickly edit lists of images as the shortcode), it doesn’t allow me to ever go back to the visual meow gallery editor. I first resolve the added p tags and can return it to a regular block, but I can’t seem to convert it back to the gallery visual editor. The shortcode works fine otherwise on the frontend.

Potential bug or a quirk of gutenberg to not allow this type of workflow?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Do you mean the block is broken? What do you see instead? Normally it should work, I copy/paste a lot of “HTML”, but don’t forget the comments which are part of the Gutenberg blocks, they are the ones identifying what is the block. The HTML inside, for the Meow Gallery, is only the preview.

Yes, the block breaks. I simply take the shortcode from one, create another meow gallery and paste this over the other shortcode, and it broke the block. I didn’t see any comments.

You can’t edit the HTML of the block by the way, you need to edit the HTML code of the WHOLE page, otherwise, indeed, the block data is lost (it’s not in there).
